David Cohen, President of DCI Consulting Group, Inc., has announced the formation of a new national nonprofit employer association dedicated to promoting proactive affirmative action and equal employment regulatory compliance to create diverse organizations free from workplace bias. Patricia A. Schaeffer, DCI’s Vice President-Regulatory Affairs, will head the association known as “The Center for Corporate Equality.”
The Center for Corporate Equality (“CCE”) will respond to employers’ need for a fresh approach to manage a new generation of affirmative action regulatory compliance requirements. “During the past thirty years, affirmative action compliance has become increasingly complex and technology-based,” says Cohen, whose firm provides human resources risk management consulting services to employers and law firms. “However,” Cohen adds, “the specialized corporate functions responsible for compliance often find themselves working in organizational and informational silos. The Center for Corporate Equality addresses this need by providing those specialized corporate functions – AA/EEO compliance, compensation, and staffing -- with functional coordination and knowledge transfer within a collaborative problem-solving framework.”
“I’m also pleased that Patricia will serve as CCE’s Executive Director,” Cohen said. “Highly regarded in the business community for her expertise in corporate affirmative action regulatory compliance, her industry experience will be invaluable in advancing CCE’s mission,” Cohen added.
Previously, Ms. Schaeffer was a vice president with an international human resources management consulting firm where she served as the practice leader for their Diversity/EEO/Employment Law practice group in the U.S. and U.K. She was formerly the Corporate Director of Regulatory Compliance with The Boeing Company and an in-house labor and employment lawyer with McDonnell Douglas Corporation. Ms. Schaeffer holds a J.D. from Southwestern University School of Law and a M.A. in Management from The Peter F. Drucker Graduate School at Claremont Graduate University. She is a member of the State Bar of California.
The Center for Corporate Equality will be based in Washington, DC. For additional information, contact Patricia Schaeffer at patricia.schaeffer@cceq.org or at 202-293-2220.
