On November 17, 2008, the EEOC released its 2008 Performance and Accountability Report with preliminary enforcement statistics for FY 2008. The commission reported a record-high 95,420 private-sector discrimination charges were filed in FY 2008, up 15.2 percent from the previous fiscal year. Also up over one year ago is the pending case inventory. The top priority of EEOC’s Office of General Counsel continues to be systemic investigations and lawsuits.
