One of EEOC Chair Naomi Earp’s top priorities this year will be launching the agency’s systemic litigation program. The comprehensive program was endorsed by the agency in April 2006.
Speaking before various groups since becoming EEOC chair, Earp has emphasized that the EEOC will aggressively investigate and litigate systemic discrimination cases with broad impact and affecting large numbers of employees.
One of the program requirements is that each EEOC district office submit plans for increasing systemic investigations and litigation. Chair Earp has indicated in the past that the agency would share the focus, but not the specific details, of these plans. EEOC is keeping confidential the details on which industries, companies, or locations are being targeted.
