David Cohen, President of DCI Consulting Group Inc., and other well known experts will participate on a lively and highly interactive systemic compensation panel at the ILG National Conference on August 24 in New York.

The panel, which is entitled “Experts Play Hardball on Systemic Compensation Best Practices,” will be moderated by Patricia Schaeffer, Executive Director, The Center for Corporate Equality. The Center is a nonprofit employer association based in Washington, D.C. whose mission is to advance proactive affirmative action, equal employment regulatory compliance, and other human resource management strategies to create diverse organizations free from workplace bias. The Center will conduct a survey of contractors prior to the conference on their experiences with OFCCP’s systemic compensation discrimination protocol. The results, which will not identify specific companies, will be highlighted during the panel session.

Other well known systemic compensation experts on the panel will be William Doyle, Jr., Morgan Lewis; Jon Geier, Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker; and Alissa A. Horvitz, Littler Mendelson.

The panel is expected to discuss such issues as:

    • Outside or inside counsel: Maintaining data confidentiality through the attorney-client privilege
    • Determining the appropriate type of compensation analysis for your company
    • Pros and cons of OFCCP’s protocol for compensation self-evaluation
    • Managing OFCCP’s Three-Pronged Test and the Cluster Analysis
      • Taking remedial action and making backpay adjustments

The panel session is just one of many high power events scheduled at the 25th Annual Industry Liaison Group (ILG) National Conference on August 21 to 24, 2007, at the Sheraton New York Hotel and Towers in New York City. This year's conference celebrates the silver anniversary of the ILGs. The theme is "Be a Part of It."

Annual ILG Conferences
The Industry Liaison Groups, from their very beginning, were so successful that a local ILG volunteered to host a national ILG conference. The first annual national conference was held in 1983 in New Orleans. Every year since then a different chapter has hosted the event where the Nation's affirmative action officers, equal opportunity directors, and diversity leaders from business, industry and education have gathered to meet with government agency leadership from the OFCCP and EEOC to engage in cooperative discussions regarding regulations, compliance, best practices, and successful approaches to ensuring that America's work place is free from unlawful discrimination

Industry Liaison Groups
Industry Liaison Groups (ILGs) were formed in the early 1980's to encourage open communication between private industry and the US Department of Labor's Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) and have evolved to include partnerships with other government agencies, such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). Local ILGs are found in every Department of Labor (DOL) region across the United States. ILGs are a unique private and public sector forum and there are more than 200 ILGs representing more than 2,500 companies that have federal contracts and subcontracts.
