Richard Stana, Director Homeland Security and Justice Issues at the Government Accountability Office (GAO) released a statement at a recent House Judiciary subcommittee hearing that indicated a mandatory E-Verify program would necessitate an increased capacity at both U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and the Social Security Administration to accommodate the estimated 7.4 million employers in the U.S. The full study report is here.
