The Office of Management and Budget’s decision to suspend the pay data component of the EEO-1 report has left many employers with questions regarding what’s next for their EEO-1 reporting requirements. As of September 1st, the EEO-1 Joint Reporting Committee provided updates regarding the 2017 EEO-1 Survey. At this time, private employers with 100 or more employees and federal contractors with 50 or more employees AND $50,000 in contract(s) will be required to report the same information they have reported on all previous EEO-1 Surveys. This information includes a reporting of race, ethnicity, and gender data by job category. As a reminder, the 2017 EEO-1 Survey will not include the collection of pay and hours worked data.
With regard to the reporting timeline, employers will now select a payroll period between October 1 and December 31 for their snapshot. Reports must be submitted and certified by March 31, 2018. DCI will continue to monitor updates regarding the EEO-1 report going further, and provide additional guidance as it is made available.
