On October 30, 2008, the Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division announced that GlobalCynex, Inc., an information technology company headquartered in Sterling, Virginia, will pay $1.68 million in back wages to 343 foreign workers with H-1B visas after a government investigation revealed the company failed to pay them the prevailing wage from March 2005 through March 2007.
