Pay Data Panel Announced

Yesterday, January 25, 2021, the National Academies of Sciences (NAS) announced committee member assignments for an ad hoc panel assembled to review the compensation data collected by EEOC. As a reminder, on July 16, 2020, EEOC announced the funding of a statistical study by the NAS Committee on National Statistics (CNSTAT). CNSTAT, led by an expert panel, will complete an independent study of the collected EEO-1 Component 2 pay data. The final report of this study will provide the panel’s recommendations and conclusions to the EEOC for refining their approach for future data collections.

Committee appointments are considered provisional and CNSTAT is collecting formal comments from the public over the next 19 days. This feedback will be considered before committee membership is finalized. Panel membership could change in the future, in which case the same 20-calendar day period (following the posting of the panel membership) will be provided and CNSTAT will evaluate “relevant information bearing on the committee's composition and balance”.

It is expected that the panel’s work will be complete by the end of 2021. Stay tuned for additional information regarding this exciting work.
