OMB Completes Review of OFCCP's JVA Rule

UPDATE: The final rule was published in the Federal Register on August 8, 2007.

DCI has learned that the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) completed its review on August 1, 2007 of OFCCP’s proposed final rule implementing the amendments to the affirmative action provisions of the Vietnam Era Veterans’ Readjustment Assistance Act of 1974 (VEVRAA) that were made by the Jobs for Veterans Act (JVA) enacted in 2002. This means the final rule likely will be published soon in the Federal Register.

Federal contractors have been anxiously awaiting the release of the final rule because JVA amendments have modified contractors’ mandatory job-listing requirements. OFCCP announced an interim enforcement position on the listing requirements in late June to guide contractors while OMB reviewed the rule.

DCI will issue a client alert soon after the final rule is released.
